Psalms 92:1-4

1. It is good to give thanks to Yahweh and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;

2. To declare Your loving kindness (hesed) in the morning and Your faithfulness by night,

3. With the ten stringed lute and with the harp, with resounding music upon the lyre.

4. For You, O Yahweh, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow

Yahweh is holy holy holy

Isaiah 6:1-5

1. In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the LORD sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, with the train of His robe filling the temple.

2. Seraphim (The Fiery Ones) stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

3. And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is Yahweh(I am that I am) of hosts(all spiritual beings); the whole earth is full of His glory.”

4. And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called out, while the house of God(the temple) filled with smoke.

5. Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am undone(this is a statement of acknowledging that he is guilty of sinning against God all mighty and that he will be destroyed for his uncleanness or sin.) For I am a man of unclean lips(speaking merely human thoughts, and saying sinful things), and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of hosts.

Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all the worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and made a man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life everlasting of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer for the enlightenment of the heart by the power of the Holy Spirit

Father You are the giver of every good gift as You spoke through Your servant James, in You there is no darkness, there is nothing unholy, evil, or corrupted even to the smallest degree. You are holy holy holy! Please wash our hearts and minds with your word, cleansing us of all the filthiness that swirls around in us. We need you and have no wisdom or understanding in ourselves. Please forgive us for our arrogance, idolatry of self and worldly pleasures. Thank You for sending your Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is our only hope, thank You Jesus For sending the Spirit to be our comforter in this world of evil as a guarantee of our salvation. Yahweh You alone are God, one God in three Persons, may this time bring you alone glory.

A prayer of a poor and pitiable saint.

God’s Law is His will for your life.

John 15:12-17

12. “This is my commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

13. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

14. You are my friends if you do what I command you.

15. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

16. You did not choose me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would abide, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give it to you.

17. This I command you, that you love one another.

Exodus 20:1-6

1. Then Yahweh spoke all these words, saying,

2. “I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of your slavery.

3.You shall have no other God’s before Me.

4. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

5. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me,

6. but show lovingkindness(hesed) to thousands, to those who love Me and keep my commandments.

Matthew 6:24

24. “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth (worldly pleasures or success).

1 John 2:15-17

15. Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16. For all that is in the world, the lust(desire) of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

17. And the world is passing away, and also its lusts(desires), but the one who does the will of God abides(lives with God) forever.

Gospel imperatives 

There are only two requirements to inherit eternal life,

1. Repentance: from sin, so hating all that you naturally love and loving all the things God commands you to do. Loving obedience to God and hating serving yourself. Hating sin and loving God.

2. Faith: that Jesus Christ is the Son of God(God), came in the flesh, lived a perfect and sinless life, took God’s wrath that was to be poured out on you for all of your horrible sins against God completely atoning for your hatred of God and everything good, therefore cleansing you of all guilt for all your horrible disgusting sins, and rose from the dead on the third day and is reigning on high at the right hand of the Father and will come back to judge the living and the dead and destroying all of the fallen creation making all things new, sending all the wicked disobedient pagans and angels to hell to be tortured for all of eternity.

Gospel indicatives 

These are the outward signs that someone has come to true saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and is now an adopted child of God.

Scriptural proof texts

1 John 1:5-10

5. And this is the message that we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all.

6. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not do the truth;

7. But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8. if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.

10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

Luke 6:43-45

43. “For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.

44. For each tree is known by it’s fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a bramble bush.

45. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of his heart.”

Galatians 5:16-26

16. But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

17. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to to one another, so that you do not do the things you want.

18. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

19. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

20. idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions,

21. envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarned you, just as I have forewarned you, that such who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23. gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

24. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in step with the Spirit.

26.Let us not become those with vain glory, challenging one another, envying one another.

By two or three witnesses one will be condemned and put to death. God has spoken and born witness against the deeds done in the flesh and with out repentance and faith lived out by obedience we all stand condemned to burn in hell for all eternity as enemies of God. (Deuteronomy 17:2-6, Matthew 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 3:9-20, Psalms 7:12-16)

Be comforted by the prayer of our Savior to the Father.

John 17

Jesus Spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom you have given Him, He may give eternal life. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I glorified You on the earth, having finished the work which You have given me to do. Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory that I had before the world was.

I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me. I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; and all things that are Mine are Yours, and yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition(the one predestined to be destroyed Judas Iscariot), so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent me into the world, I sent them into the world. For their sake I sanctify myself, that they themselves may be sanctified in truth.

I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so the world my know that You have sent me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, although the world has not known You; and these have known that You sent Me; I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

Closing Thoughts

Without the bad news, good news just really isn’t that good. We must not also become lazy and arrogant in thinking that because salvation and sanctification are works of god that we can sit in our sin unrepentant and expect God to just come in and poof us like a genie. God requires us to work and work very hard towards the ends He created us for. We are commanded to keep his commandment in the old and new testaments, because we are judged by what we do with the life God has given us. 

It is critical to not get the imperatives and indicatives mixed up. Repentance(turning in the opposite direction of sin) and faith are both graces given by God. To be without them should be humiliating knowing that God hates everything you do and every second of every day whether sleeping or awake your life is being lived in service to the devil.

Because of Jesus(God) saving us from God, we have hope and must cry out in prayer every day begging to be saved and given a new heart. Without God no one can say that they love anyone or anything and not be lying. God is love, He owns it and only gives it to those who are His. 

By God’s grace we have been given the law to show us how miserable and evil we are. We need a savior and by grace Jesus cam and paid the debt we owe God and what is required of us is repentance and faith. In Gods word He has outlined what true repentance is and what true faith is. If we are disobedient it is because we are faithless. 

Repent of all wickedness and cry out to God to be freed from the wrath to come. Live a life of obedience to the word of God out of gratitude for such a wonderful and amazing undeserved gift. No one deserves to go to heaven all have turned and gone their own way, doing what is right and their own eyes and therefore all deserve hell.
