LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,


I do not come to You asking to be one of the earthly rich and powerful, BUT to be made one of the spiritually blessed.

Make it my current, most important, unending concern to gain those riches that are spiritual in their nature, that continue for eternity, and truly satisfying to have.(Matthew 6:19-21)

Keep me from having a false understanding of the whole or part of my character; (Romans 12:3)

May I pay close attention to the underlying law that guides my nature, as well as the fruit it bears;(Galatians 5:16-23)

why I desire to act as well how I do what I do.

Help me

never to mistake an emotional response that leads me to feel spiritually enriched for the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

never to judge the genuineness of my faith by occasional deep feelings and impulses to obey, but by my habitual way of living.(1 John 1:5-10)

May my heart be right with You,

and my life one that reflects the truth of the gospel.

May I constantly live for a new and better world, and truly feel like a stranger and foreigner to this world.(1 John 2:15-17)

Give to me the direction, defense, support, and comfort my journey requires, and grant me a mind that is fixed upon You.

Give me a large abundance of the Spirit of Jesus, so that I will be properly equipped for every good work You have prepared for me,(Ephesians 2:10)

love You in every mercy I receive,(Romans 2:4)

walk in submission to You in every trial and season of suffering,(James 1:2-4)

trust You when I walk through the darkness of this world,(Psalms 23:4)

have peace in You regardless of the changes in this life.

Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!(Mark 9:24)
